Welcome to Tigers
Tigers Newsletter – November 2017
A big welcome back to you all after the half term. Hopefully you all had a relaxing and enjoyable break.
This term our topic is called ‘Christmas around the world’ and we will be exploring a range of different festive traditions from various countries. This of course links in with our preparation for our Christmas play which you are invited to on Thursday 7th December.
PE will continue to take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, please ensure that your child has the appropriate kit in school, especially footwear.
Phonics homework will be given out on Monday and a task will be set every Friday via Mathletics with a week to complete each one. Reading also remains a priority and reading with your child as often as possible is key. This does not always have to be a school book. Having a discussion with them about what they have read will also be beneficial.
Parents’ evenings will also take place this term and will be a chance for us to discuss your child’s progress as well as you having the chance to raise any queries or concerns you may have.
Can I just take this opportunity to politely remind you that children should be coming in to the classroom independently? Please do not hesitate to contact the office if you do have any problems in order for us to arrange an appropriate meeting time.
I’m really looking forward to an exciting term and hope that you and your children are too.
Mrs Emma Vaughan
