Wolves
Wolves Class Letter – Autumn 2026
Class Teachers
Miss Knowles
Dear Parents and carers,
Welcome to Year 5/6 and Wolves Class.
Welcome to the Wolf pack!
We hope that you have all had a restful and enjoyable summer holiday spent together.
In each term, your child will be following exciting and engaging topics which are as follows:
Autumn term – Local study - Oxford
Spring term – Ancient Islamic Civilisations
Summer term – Anglo-Saxons and Vikings
This term our topic is Local study - Oxford
The children will spend time learning about Oxford and comparing it with other cities around the world. We will take a look at the history of Oxford and why it is so famous. We will also be looking at rivers locally and ones further away.
Reading
The children should be reading their book every evening for at least ten minutes. These can be any book from non-fiction, biographies, comics or fiction books. Please ensure your child records what they have read in their reading journal. We have been keeping a class chart and the children receive a tick when they have read four times in a week.
Homework
The children should be reading four times per week, playing on TTRS four times a week and completing any homework sent home. Homework will be sent home on a Thursday and is due on a Thursday. This will also be accessible on Google Classroom and can be handed in that way. Children will receive spellings on a Friday at the start of a new half-term to learn for every Friday.
Uniform
Please could you ensure that your child’s uniform, particularly jumpers, is all appropriately named, even if you simply write their initials on the label. This will allow us to reunite them with their rightful owners!
P.E. Kits
Please ensure your child has a P.E. kit in school. PE days will be Monday and Thursday. Please make sure there are spare jumpers and/or long bottoms as we still go outdoors in the colder weather.
Please do email me or use ClassDojo with any class related questions or information.
Kind regards,
Miss Knowles
