Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility.

Marcham CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We acknowledge the document, “Keeping Children Safe in Education” (September 2023) as key to our approach and recognise the government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. We also have rigorous procedures in place for the recruitment of staff.

We take these responsibilities seriously.

We have a number of documents in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our policy. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about a pupil are discussed with his/her parents or carers first unless we have a reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Hutchinson, Miss Priddle, Mrs Callahan and Mrs Jefferies.

If you think a child or young person may be in immediate danger, call 999. Otherwise contact Oxfordshire Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team  0345 050766
