"Living and learning with Faith, Community and Hope"

Vision

Our School Vision

Faith         Community         Hope

At Marcham School, our vision can be encapsulated in these three words: Faith, Community, Hope.

Based on the story of Noah’s Ark, we have embraced the themes of the story.

Noah had faith in God, who had told him to build the ark. It took decades to build and there was much ridicule from those around him but his faith remained strong.

Like Noah, we commit ourselves, to exercise faith. With faith in ourselves, we will achieve beyond our expectations. With faith in each other, we do the right things for the right reasons and for those of us with a faith in God, all things are possible.

As God had asked, Noah gathered two of each kind of animal into the ark. The community of the ark must have been curious, with animals living together who would normally be prey and predator. Tigers and leopards would not usually get on with giraffes or meerkats – but on the ark they did.

As a school community we want everyone to feel that they belong and they matter. All our classes have animal names and in the image above (which is painted on our school wall), we are all in the ark. The door is open invitationally. We are all different but we work and live together through our school’s Christian values for the benefit of everyone and for the common good.

At the end of the story, God promised not to flood the earth again and set a rainbow as a symbol of hope.

We, at Marcham want to work to contribute positively to the future. In all we do, our hope is to make the world a better place.

So there you have it: faith, community, hope. It’s what we are all about…

Please do take a look at our PowerPoint presentation below, this is how our vision has been expressed here at Marcham School.

Governors and Staff came together this month (November 2024) for an evening focused on building connections and deepening our understanding of the school vision and what makes us unique.
