The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA)

The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) at Marcham School is a friendly, active group that plays an important role in supporting school life. Formerly known as the PTA, the association changed its name to reflect our wider community and to welcome not only parents and staff, but also friends and supporters of the school.

Our members generously give their time to help organise fundraising activities and social events that bring our school community together. Throughout the year, the PTFA runs a range of popular events, including school discos, movie nights, and other family-friendly activities. These events help raise funds for those “extra” items and opportunities that enhance pupils’ experiences at school.

Our two largest events — the Christmas Party and the Summer Fete — are highlights of the school calendar and are supported not only by parents and staff, but also by the wider Marcham community and friends of the school.

All parents, carers, members of staff, and friends of Marcham School are welcome to be part of the PTFA. Parents and staff are automatically members and are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held during the autumn term. At the AGM, a new committee is elected and plans for the year ahead are shared. Parents who are new to the school are especially encouraged to attend to find out more about how the PTFA works and how they can get involved.

Committee members work together to organise and run events, and any level of help — whether occasional or regular — is always greatly appreciated.
